Silicone Workshop Freelancer
The Face Forge / Anthrotek Ltd provide hyper-realistic silicone solutions for the medical, robotics, and cinema industry. We specialize in accurate artificial body parts, faces and skin models, both design and production, using a wide range of technologies such as AI, 3D modelling, 3D printing. We have a background in material science and a collaboration with academic labs, allowing us to develop new custom materials to match customers’ requirements. Our human-centric solutions currently include surgical training models, medical device training models, accurate skin models, face replicas and hyper-realistic injection pads.
We are currently looking for local freelancers (must be within 1h drive of CB8 7SH) to integrate our teams for short-term contracts, with the possibility to integrate our team of skilled artists and scientists in the future.
ROLE DUTIES
Participate in the production of silicone masks and props, including:
- silicone casting
- seaming
- silicone painting
- hair punching
- Follow a project brief with time constraints and deliverables.
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists and artists, including attending regular meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Order lab consumables and raw materials.
SKILLS
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated experience working in a silicone workshop for hyper-realistic work (either cinema or medical simulation industry).
- Minimum 2 years of experience with silicone casting, seaming and airbrush painting.
- Experience working with a wide variety of silicone-related materials and casting techniques.
- Passion for contributing to a growing company and helping it develop.
Beneficial Skills:
- Hair punching experience
- Experience leading/training junior artists.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and interacting with scientists.
